Try it out Tuesday with Ashley Scheffler!

Intro- Coloring Aj's jeans with Copic markers by Ashley Scheffler

You will want to first pick out the color combo you wish for jeans. For this image I wanted a darker blue color. My rule is typically to pick at least 3 colors that go together. For example, I will be using B93, B95, and B97. You can pick lighter blues for a faded look. For a fun twist you can always make jeans a different color other than blue as well!

Lets get started!

------------
STEP 1
Here is the image Aj on swing, he is adorable and has a pretty good size area of jeans to play with. Again, I am using the colors B93, B95 and B97 (you can also use the colorless blender to make the jeans appear faded)

STEP 2
Image before I color him. You need to pick where the light source is coming from. I want the sun to be on the left, which means everything on the left hand side of his body will be lighter because the sun hits there first.

STEP 3
Taking your darkest color (B97) fill in the areas that will be the darkest. This is where the sun will hit last or in deep folds in the fabric.

STEP 4
Using the medium color (B95) go over the dark area you just colored and add some more color. Leaving enough area to color where the sun will hit first for the lighest color. To blend the colors together go over in little circles to evenly blend the Copics together.

STEP 5
Using the lightest color, fill in the rest of the image. Also go over complete jean area to help blend all 3 colors together.

STEP 6
Repeat the steps if you want to go back and make the areas darker to stand out more. When you color over the darker area with any lighter marker, it will take away some of the color.

STEP 7
Repeat with color B95

STEP 8
Repeat with color B93. Just keep repeating these steps until you get the desired look for the jeans and the color you want. Just be careful not to over saturate your paper or the color will start to run out of the image lines.

STEP 9
Pick a color combo for the patches. I decided to use R29 and R46. I also used 0 to lighten the patches to look worn.

STEP 10
Completed jean area. You can see exactly where the sun/light source hits first (lightest) and where it hits last (darkest).

STEP 11
Continue coloring AJ. Just remember to keep the light source in mind! Here are the color combos I used:
Jeans- B93, B95, B97
Patch- R29, R46, 0
Shirt- G02, G05, G07
Skin- E00, E21, R20 (blush/cheek color)
Hair- C1, C3, C5, C7
Swing- E53, E33, E35, E37
Shoes- E57, E77
Sky- B0000

STEP 12
Complete the card or project using your image. For my card I used:
Stampin Up cardstock, Neenah Cardstock, and the pattern paper is Making Memories. Buttons were from personal collection collected over the years, corner rounder.

More Fabulous DT ladies......

Hi! My name is Lorie, and I have been married to my high school sweetheart for 27 years, and we are the very blessed parents of two grown boys. About 6 years ago, I was introduced to rubber stamping and very quickly, I fell in love with this craft. Water coloring with ink, and Copic coloring are my favorite techniques, but I can honestly say that when it comes to stamping, I LOVE IT ALL! When I'm not stamping, which is seldom, I love to garden, read, cook, and crochet. It is an honor to be a part of the Stamping Boutique Design Team, and I am thrilled for the opportunity! It is my hope that my creations will inspire, uplift, and pass my love for this craft on to you.

Hey there my name is Crystal (aka Caitlynsmommy). I am a stay at home mom to one very sassy and active 2.5 year old girl. In my former life I was an Army officer and am an Iraqi War Vet. Jonathan (my husband) and I have been married six years this coming December, he is my biggest supporter and enabler. I have been dabbling in paper crafting of some sort my entire life. I have always loved to buy school supplies (now scrap supplies) and organize. I dived into scrap booking right before our Daughter was born in 2007 and have not stopped yet. I am not a big card maker although I do run the Cricut Card Fairies. We are a great group that send cards to anyone needing a lift, we are past 600 missions in just a little over two years. I have not used many digital images, but I promise I am up to the challenge. I can't wait to challenge myself with this amazing design team!

I am a very blessed mother of 3 wonderful children; Jeff 23; Jon 17 and Jenna 5. Jenna and Jon keep us both busy with dance and high school sports. I work full time outside the home at a local Middle School (grades 6-7-8) as the Student Services Secretary. I can truly say that "I love my job", I enjoy working with our students, they make me smile each and every day. I have a passion for many different crafts. I am a quilter and a knitter, my wonderful mother taught me both about 5 years ago and I have made over 15 quilts since then, yep I'm hooked. I have been scrapbooking for about 10 years and creating handmade cards for about 2 years. I can't wait to see where my creativity will take me everytime I sit down at my craft table.

My name is Amanda and I'm one of the Canucks on the team! I live in Canada...so I'm enjoying the sun now while it's here!

I've been using digital images for at least a year now and my Copic marker collection keeps growing, much to my family's dismay! I'm honoured to be chosen to work with Tracey and Christy and this very talented team. I have some extensive Design Team experience with sites for ribbon kits, store kits, sketch teams, blog challenge teams and now TSB digital stamps PLUS I have my own DT for my online store www.inascrapcreationsstore.blogspot.com . I've also guest designed for several different sites and I know what I expect of my design team members so I always put my all into whatever team I'm on.

Besides crafting and my own business, I work for my mom, work for my grandfather and have two kiddos and a hubby that I have to keep up with!! I really wish I didn't have to sleep! It would make life a lot easier! Then I'd have at least another 5-6 hours in a day to get things done!!

More fabulous DT ladies.....

My name is April Lower and I'm currently at SAHM of 2 wonderful children. My son is 5 and my daughter is 2. I have been married to my highschool sweetheart for 13 years. My husband is active duty Air Force and we currently live in Germany. We have lived here for about 4 years and in Nov. we will be moving on and going back to Guam! We are very excited about this move...we LOVE Guam! I am currently taking college courses to get my degree in Psychology, that has been the only thing I have ever really wanted to do with my life next to being a teacher. Of course if I could just craft and make good money at it...I'd do that for the rest of my life. But as of right now, it's just my passion and a hobby! I began stamping about 8 years ago when a friend turned me on to SU! I have been venturing out with other companies and fell in love with digis! I am so super excited to be part of this DT team...I love love love the images and the girls so far have been wonderful! You will see LOTS of glitter from me...I love anything and everything that sparkles! I'm very much a girly girl!

Check out more of April's work on her blog Stamping-Crafting-Creating.

My name is Michele Greenwood and I'm looking for a 12-step stamping program - LOL! I have been married for 18 years and we are blessed with 3 children, two girls and one boy, ages 14, 12 and 10. I work outside the home and stay very busy with all the children's sporting and extra curricular activities. I originally started with scrapbooking several years ago, but somewhere along the line I stumbled across immediate gratification of creating a card. I've been addicted ever since...and those scrapbooks? They haven't seen much love!

I love to color with Copics; however, for this particular card I used pencils & odorless mineral spirits. I consider my stamping style fun, whimsical and typically feminine, although this particular card was made for my boss's birthday.

I am graciously honored to work with The Stamping Boutique; we're going to have a great time!!

My name is Donna Espiritu from Manila, Philippines but currently living in the Middle East (for just about 6 months now) with my husband who's working here. I am a SAHW, still wishing and praying to be blessed with a little angel of our own. My husband is very supportive of my "hobby", which like any other crafty stories, later turned into obsession :P I am a traditional scrapbooker at heart, dabbled into digital and hybrid just a couple of years ago. Never thought of myself as a card-maker, ever. If I were asked a year ago if I can see myself finish a card/week I'd say NO way :D I really find card making difficult! Until now, I am still amazed on how much I've grown to love this other side of paper crafting. With scrapbooking, I love doodling, paint, inks and using "scraps" from my scraps :D I've incorporated these into my card-making style as well. You'd see bits and pieces of the same paper in my cards/projects many times :) Oh and I use watercolor, colored pencils/pens for my images. I am hoping to get myself some Copic markers in the near future - yeah, I've never ever used one. :D

My name is Aletha and I live in Tulsa, OK. I was raised in Claremore, OK. I am married to a very supportive husband who is an artist also. He is a well known writer/editor in the energy business.

I also have two grown children, a daughter and son. Our daughter and son-in-law has blessed us with two grandsons, 15 and 12 years old. Our son married in 2009 to a wonderful young lady. And he just graduated from Oklahoma University’s Law School. We are so proud of both of them!

I am a self-taught artist all around. My husband calls it “raw talent.” I was a graphic/print production artist in the old days…meaning that my art was all done manually. There were no computers involved. And I had no formal training in any of the creative areas that I have worked in through the long years. It was all “on-the-job-training.”

Now, I get to concentrate on my creative side. As of November 2009 I became disable and unable to work outside the home. I am on oxygen 24/7. So, with the supportive husband that I have and my disability check (finally), I am thankful to say that I am a very lucky artist. I am able to practice more each day. I am truly blessed.

I am so excited to be part of The Stamping Boutique’s design team. This is a very talented group of artists. And we get to work with Tracey’s imagination. Let the creativity roll!

I do have a blog at http://ajsdesigns.blogspot.com. Please stop by sometime. And I really appreciate followers.

Introducing more talented Design team ladies....

Well I hope everyone had a safe and Happy Memorial Day weekend! Today we would like to introduce several more of the talented designers that have joined "The Boutique Team"-make sure to check their blogs for more details on the fantastic 1st projects they have made for The Stamping Boutique!

My name is Ashley. I love making cards and coloring images. Scrapbooking is also a hobby of mine. I have been paper crafting since I was 16 years old (although my style has changed quite a bit ). I am 25 years old and live in Indiana. I am happily married to Brent and I am blessed to be a SAHM to Aiden, who will turn 2 this September. During nap times I LOVE sneaking away to play in my craft room. When I am not making cards or scrapbooking I love making video tutorials, teaching copic classes, and cooking/baking, updating my blog for friends and family, and trying to learn how to sew!

Check out more of Ashley's work on her blog Scrappin Ashley.

Hi my name is Carla and I have been making cards since March of 2009 and scrapbooking off and on for about four years- what started out as a mere hobby has now become an obsession! I love the outlet to create and share with others. I have two adorable pugs and a very understanding husband. I enjoy working with both digital images and traditional stamps as well.... my favorite colors are pinks and oranges and aquas ... depending on my mood! I also like to read and shop and swap on SCS! I am thrilled to be a part of The Stamping Boutique team!

Check out more of Carla's work on her blog Carla's Corner.

My name is Robyn and I've been into crafting for as long as I can remember. I find it very rewarding. I have only been card crafting for several months. It's become my new obsession. I have found card making to be my source of diversion from life's everyday stress. I have two children (or shall I say young adults). I live in Philadelphia with my hubby, children and three dogs.

Check out more of Robyn's work on her blog Coloring Within the Lines

Hello from sunny Arizona my name is Jan. I've been interested in crafting since I was a little girl. My Mom taught me how to sew at a very young age, we spent many hours together creating all kinds of fun stuff. Even as a girl I loved to take pictures and put them in photo albums, way before we had any of the awesome goodies we work with now!

In 2004 after all the scrapbooks were up to date I was introduced to rubber stamping and haven't looked back! I seem to be leaning heavily toward digi stamps these days, I love being able to re size and print them and the instant gratification thrills me. Not to mention they don't take up any space in my shared kitchen craft area!

I'm a SAHM with two grade school age children who also have a love for crafts. My husband is very supportive of my craftiness and enables me by making stuff to hold all my goodies. I teach weekly paper crafting classes in my home to a fun group of local women and I'm on the blog team for Operation Write Home. A non profit organization of card makers that make and send hand made cards to our troops.

Hi I am Jackie Semark and I live in Kent, UK, with my wonderful companion, a border collie cross. I have 3 grown up children, and 3 grandchildren.
I started crafting about 5 years ago, trying out most things along the way, (as you do)... decoupage, pergamano (not very successfully, lol), etc, and finally stamping, although stamping the image was never the problem... knowing what to do with it thereafter was.. however, after a few (ok a lot) of trial and error, testing out waterpaints, various gel pens, marvy la plumes, etc etc..... and then I stumbled across... copics !!! I now have to admit to being totally in LOVE with my copics, (water colours were so much cheaper, I should have stuck to those lol).
I spend as much time as I can in my little craft room creating .. I love to take part in challenges and am blog hopping mad... spending far too many hours just gazing at other peoples wonderful creations.. and yes I still strive to be much much better at putting colour to paper. Thats the joy of crafting... always room for improvement. Crafting to me.. is not a just a hobby or pasttime... its an obsession... :) hugs J xx
